Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Christianity, millions of believers, one religion

So why are there so many Christian religions?

That's a good question and one that I hope will be answered through the pages of this website.

It seems people have a basic need to want to belong to an established group, perhaps for security, or companionship, or to avoid feeling 'left out' or perhaps because it's the 'done thing' in their community. The word 'Religion' literarily means 'To Belong'. People tend to attach themselves to like minded people and groups, especially with religion when it reflects their upbringing, language and culture. There are exceptions to this rule but in the main it is true. But ask yourself, 'where does God fit into this?'

If your chosen religion bases its beliefs and teachings on Christian truths, and on the words contained in the bible then you belong to the right Christian religion. If it doesn't then get out now and seek one that does, one that you feel happy and comfortable with. It doesn't matter who you upset in taking this action, just do it and do it now. You only have one life, don't waste even one day of it, you could die later today and be lost simply because you delayed.

Unfortunately, problems occur when one religion thinks it is superior to another and many wars have been fought over the ages in the name of religion, often with each side believing that God is with them. Each will claim that they are the only true religion and all others are false and mistaken.

How stupid this is, does God think like that? Does God want you to behave like that? I'm sure he doesn't. Yes, there is only one true faith and that is belief in God and in our Lord Jesus Christ. The wrongdoer crucified at the side of our lord wasn't a member of any religion, Christianity had not even begun and yet our Lord assured him that
'he would be with him in paradise' simply because he had faith in our Lord
.

The world is so divided through religious hatred and it's time to put a stop to it. Simply believe in God, in our Lord Jesus Christ and in The Holy Spirit to guide you.
Then put religious bigotry behind you.

I believe that God is not interested in whether you call yourself Catholic, Orthodox, Methodist or Baptist. I believe that ALL believers, regardless of their religion are worthy to be called Christians and as such will be saved and will see paradise.

The world is now a global village thanks to the internet and cheap travel. Many people no longer feel the need to fit into the mould of their parents and ancestors and that may include their religion.

If you feel you don't want to belong to a religion but love God and our Lord Jesus Christ then seek the truth and ask God for guidance in your quest.

Start by telling God you love him right now,
through our Lord Jesus Christ... Amen.

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends

Greater love hath no man than this,
that a man lay down his life for his friends.

The greatest outpouring of love the human race has ever seen was this. Christ was about to die for his friends. Actually, not just for his friends, he also died for the ungodly and even for his enemies! He died for all mankind.

St. Paul tells us in his letter to the early church in Rome 'he died for his enemies'.
